The Idea Village and NOEW

Today’s episode is a bit unique. As you probably know The New Orleans economy is heavily focused on tourism and hospitality.

Today, I wanted to dive into a question I sometimes get about entrepreneurship and the tech community in New Orleans. To do that, we’re going to talk about something called The Idea Village as well as an annual event called New Orleans Entrepreneur Week (NOEW).

The Idea Village

The Idea Village is a business incubator that provides resources, mentorship, and access to funds and education for business founders in the New Orleans area. They also have a special focus on integrating those things with the culture and challenges of New Orleans and Louisiana.

Per their own website, “New Orleans Entrepreneur Week (NOEW) 2023 is a 6-day entrepreneurial fest where startup founders, business leaders, aspiring entrepreneurs, industry experts, investors, and leaders come together to celebrate, learn, and network at the intersection of innovation and culture.”

Based on my own experience as an attendee and presenter, this captures the flavor of the event well. What makes it unique is you also get the culture of New Orleans just steps away from the conference venue.
