Economy Hall

Economy Hall

Today’s episode is about Economy Hall, an organization founded in the 1800s to create and preserve a society for free men of color. It became so much more than that, including a hotbed of a new form of American music known as jazz.

To help us dive into the topic, I’m joined by the author of the book named Economy Hall, Fatima Shaik. Once you’ve listened to our discussion, order a copy of Economy Hall online or stop by the Historic New Orleans Collection during your next visit.

Sunset Chasers

Need help planning a trip to New Orleans? Mallory and Allison, two New Orleans locals, are the travel advisors behind Sunset Chasers and they can help you plan the perfect vacation to New Orleans. Let them help you make those vacations dreams a reality by scheduling a 30-min consultation call. behind bourbon street listeners save 15% with code BEYOND15.

I used to offer travel planning services, but had to stop as the podcast grew and my kids got more involved in extracurriculars. I’ve been looking for a partner with a similar view on New Orleans, and I think I’ve found them in Mallory and Allison. There prices are actually lower than mine were for a similar service, and they are able to offer a wider range of help if you want a done-for-you experience.

Check them out and let me know how it goes. You can find them at www.sunsetchaserstravelagency.com/call
